A neighborhood built for walking. Make your dog good at it.
Life here is a lot of short outings: around the block, down to the park, past neighbors chatting on a stoop. A dog that lunges or barks at every passing dog turns each of those into a chore. A stay lets the trainer practice calm greetings and polite passing again and again, over several weeks, until it becomes ordinary.
Fountain City Park and its lake make a good training ground because ducks, kids and joggers all compete for a dog's attention. Along Broadway and Tazewell Pike, traffic noise and crossings add another layer. Working in both gives a dog options when the world gets busy.
A simple scenario: your dog sees a neighbor's dog across the street and freezes or pulls. The trainer teaches a turn-and-reward routine, and you will rehearse it with them before pickup. The trainer stays with your dog start to finish, so the lesson is a conversation, not a handout. Ask for your free estimate whenever you are ready.
How it works. Three simple steps.
- Fill out the short estimate form with your town and what your dog needs.
- Your request is reviewed and you are referred to a trainer based on your dog's needs and your area.
- You get a callback to talk through your dog and an estimate for the right program.

Why owners choose this
One trainer. Your dog. Real results.
We do not refer owners to franchise training chains. In our view, they lean on less experienced staff and indoor facilities instead of real-world training.
Good questions
Before we begin.
Will my dog be ready for walks near the park after a stay?
It should be better prepared, though every dog differs and progress depends on practice. The handoff lesson focuses on how to approach the park gradually.
What if my dog is nervous around other dogs on the sidewalk?
Mention it on the form. The trainer will want to see how serious it is and may suggest a behavior-focused plan done safely, with owner coaching.
Do older homes with stairs matter for training?
They can. Stairs and slick floors affect puppies and older dogs, so tell the trainer about your layout and they can plan the routines around it.
